Let your imagination and creativity go to work

These pamphlets are made with soft covers, and sewn together with string or raffia in very simple and creative ways. You can use a hole punch rather than a drill to make the holes making this a fun project for kids as well as adults. |

This is another pamphlet or journal book sewn together in a different manner. The ribbon goes through the front cover, interior pages and only a flap of the back cover, then tying on the front cover. Again you can use a hole punch with this project. |

These books are great fun for kids to make, you can use all colors of construction paper, a hole punch, and a pipe cleaner to bind the book together. Great for younger kids who can 'do' all the steps themselves. |

This is one of my favorite books to make, it is a memory/keepsake book. The covers are just pieces of thick decorative handmade paper, and the pages are actually glassine envelops. Stack envelopes so that the open ends are on the right, the same side the book will open on. Punch 2 holes through covers and envelopes and tie together in a bow with large or small ribbon. These books are great for keeping cards, letters, notes, etc.-- ; and make great gifts. |

These hard bound books are similar to the book you learned to make. With these books both the front and back cover have hinges so the book opens from with either cover. The books are not bound around the spine so you would only have 5-10 sheets in these books. |

This book is a small photo album, covered in both cloth and paper. The front cover is a mixed cover, the spine is covered with a linen fabric, and the flap is covered with paper. The back cover is solid fabric, which adds a nice look to photo albums, or scrapbooks. The book is bound with a 'criss-cross' pattern. |

This book not hand bound, however shows creative use of using different papers, and charms to decorate and cover the book. Charms are fun to add to books, and can always be taken off if you decide you don't like them. |

This book is a large photo album, bounds with a criss-cross pattern and covered with a combination of both linen fabric and handmade paper. Both font and back covers have hinges, and 'spacers' are added between every 2-4 pages. Spacers are pieces of paper the width or shorter of the spine of the book, placed between the pages of a book to allow room for photographs. |

This book is very similar to the one above, notice the binding wraps around both the head, and tail of the spine. |

The spine of a book bound with bamboo skewers. Someday I will make a book with a similar binding, I find the look so unique. |
| These boxes have been covered in a decorative marble paper; they make fun gifts for kids to make and are relatively easily. Using the cornering technique learned making your book covering boxes will be a snap. |
