ENERGY-SALMON

California imports 22% of its electricity. Environmentalists oppose the Northwest hydroelectric system of dams, reservioirs and powerhouses, as it impedes migratory salmon have succeeded. On the other hand, California relies on hydroelectricity for 22% of its power, which have recently come under severe shortage of power. LA Times, 09/25/00.

FASHION-MODEL

US commitment to the WTO/GATS on limits to market access. Up to 65,000 persons annually can fill positions for Fashion Models and Other Specialty Occupations. The latter (a separate case study) includes "persons engaged in a specialty occupation, requiring (a) theoretical and practical appreciation of a body of highly specialized knowledge; and (b) attainment of a bachelor's or higher equivalent) as a minimum entry into the occupation in the United States.

Senator Boxer from California wants to limit imports of Lemons, oranges and grapefruit from Argentina because of related disease on Argentina. Turtle meat is techncially a meat not a fish and is not appropriate for Lent fasting. Letter sent to Pope. In April 2000 the US lifted the decade old embargo on imports of yellowfin tuna from Mexico, and the National Marine Fisheries Services reported that Mexico was in compliance with US regulations.
