Roger Moffat Roger S. Moffat is currently the Manager of the William I Jacobs Fitness Center at American University. He is also developing a faculty/staff health promotion program and has served as adjunct faculty in the Department of Health and Fitness. He has additional University experience, teaching and coaching at Georgia Tech in Atlanta. Following earning a Master of Public Health degree in International Health from Emory University, Moffat worked with several international health agencies, including the US Agency for International Development, primarily in the area of micronutrient malnutrition in developing countries. For 15 years Moffat served as Regional Manager with the AT&T Health Affairs Organization, directing employee health programs for the southern and western United States. This included construction and management of 12 fitness centers and programs for over 80,000 employees. He began his professional career with the several YMCA assignments including Beirut, Lebanon and has additional graduate degrees in Exercise Science from Georgia State University and Community Development/Social Work from Springfield College in Massachusetts, where he also earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education. Moffat is a Certified Health Education Specialist and a Fellow of the Association for Worksite Health Promotion. In addition, he has been certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as an Exercise Test Technologist and a Fitness Instructor. A distance runner for many years, Moffat has run 25 marathons. |
