- A total of 10 courses, consisting of one foundation course and
one second-level course in an approved sequence from each of the five
curricular areas.
- No more than 6 credit hours may be taken in the same discipline.

Combined BS Health
Promotion/MS Health Promotion Management
About the degree
This program enables qualified undergraduates to earn a combined BS and
MS degree in Health Promotion/Health Promotion Management. The combined
program can be completed in five years.
The curriculum adequately
prepares you for a health promotion position in corporate, community,
commercial, or the school environment.
Admission to the
Program
The standards for admission to the Health Promotion Management program's
undergraduate BS degree in Health Promotion at American University must
be met. Undergraduates should apply for admission to the combined program
by the end of their junior year.
Undergraduates whose
overall grade point average is 3.00 or higher will be considered for
the combined program. Students should discuss their interest in the
program with the advisors from the Health Promotion Program before
submitting a formal application.
Degree Requirements
Students must complete the requirements for the BS
in Health Promotion, as well as all of the requirements for the
MS in Health Promotion Management.
