Minor in Health Promotion

Overview
Students can earn a minor in health promotion to connect their interest in the health-related fields and social sciences. These courses serve as a solid foundation for students who intend to pursue gradate studies in related fields or who wish to explore career opportunities in health promotion.

Minor in Health Promotion Requirements

  • A total of 24-credit hours with grades of "C" or better.

Required Courses:

  • Modern Theories of Health and Wellness
  • Introduction to Health Promotion Programs
  • Current Concepts in Nutrition
  • Exercise Physiology
  • Lifetime Health and Fitness

Nine credit hours from the following:

  • Strategies in Stress Reduction
  • First Aid, CPR, and Medical Emergencies
  • Issues in Women's Health
  • Fundamentals of Health Promotion Management
