Position: Internships Fitness & Image Results Internship programs Objective: The objective of the Fitness & Image Results Internship Program is to give each candidate the opportunity to learn the business of exercise, nutrition, health and fitness. There are many aspects of the industry to disseminate fact from fiction. In order to separate myths from facts, one needs to apply practical experience. There is not only one specific way to accomplish any one specific goal. The Fitness & Image Results Internship Program will allow for that practical experience. Types of Programs Offered: Fitness & Image Results offers four basic internship programs. They include Nutrition, Personal Training/ Fitness Counseling, Management of Health and Fitness, and Program Directing. These programs make a fitness company run properly if instituted in a proper manner. Our hands on approach with the interns will combine textbook knowledge with practical experience. Upon successful completion the internship, jobs and growth opportunities will follow. Company History History Founded in February of 1999 and headed by the creative leadership of Jeff Strahan, Kirk Trader, and Wolf Gottschalk, Fitness & Image Results was born out of the realization that the fitness industry needed a leader. With its main corporate office in Arlington, VA, FIR has grown rapidly and has taken the industry to a higher level. We first sought to set the standard in personal training services. Shortly after the company's inception, we began to offer these services first in the Gold's Gym in Van Ness NW DC, and then shortly thereafter in the Gold's Gym in Arlington, VA and the Gold's Gym in Vienna, VA. We are responsible for managing, implementing, and providing total fitness services for these sites, including personal strength and fitness training, nutritional consultation, new member orientation, and fitness support staff. Fitness & Image Results then decided to set the standard in group training services as well. We have created many group fitness programs over the years, including the wildly successful Boot Camp for Women Program. This program offers a unique approach to group training by utilizing a very individualized approach and structure. The program integrates cardiovascular fitness and strength training, with overall fitness as the end goal. There are currently over 10 sites in operation in and around Washington, DC, with more to follow soon. The program has helped many people achieve their fitness goals and improve their health. So much so, in fact, that it's success was recognized by one of the region's largest counties. Arlington County is one of the best places to live in the Washington, DC area because the County cares about its citizenry. It is actively dedicated to improving the well being of the community. One of the ways the County continues to make Arlington a healthy community is by providing various exercise and wellness programs for the community. The County recognized the success of the Boot Camp for Women Program, and so Fitness & Image Results currently runs the Boot Camp for Women Program for Arlington County's Recreation and Wellness Division. Another successful program created by Fitness & Image Results is the Corporate Boot Camp Program. Started in May of 2000, this program is being utilized by many cutting edge and highly successful companies throughout the Washington, DC area to bolster employee morale, increase productivity, and to provide its workforce with a unique fringe benefit. The program has grown exponentially since its inception and has already achieved national recognition and acclaim. The company's successful history thus far stems from hard work, a dedicated workforce, and a passion for fitness. We have always prided ourselves on the quality of our services and the quality of our staff. From this foundation in our history, so shall our future be determined. Philosophy of Mind and Heart To date, Fitness & Image Results has provided personal training services to thousands of clients. This alone does not make us unique. What sets us apart is the fact that each and every one of these clients was treated as an individual. As we continue to grow and help more and more people achieve their fitness goals, this will always be of paramount importance. Each client is as important as the next, and each client is unique in his or her wants and needs. The client is, and should always be, the top priority. A client should always be treated with the utmost respect, courtesy and professionalism. On rare occasions when disagreements between you and the client occur, it is not important to determine who is right or wrong. Rather, it is important to make sure that the client feels as if they are in the right. Above all, one should always have the mindset that you are there to meet the client's needs and expectations. We are all striving towards a common goal: to be the best in the fitness industry. In order to achieve this, everyone on this team needs to believe in this goal and share the same ideology. Accountability, hard work, willingness to learn and the desire to succeed will unite all of us together and bring us to our goal. Everyone who works at Fitness & Image Results is expected to provide the best service possible at all times. Our business thrives in an environment where everything we know is tested by what we do not know. The conflict between the two is what creates growth, meaning and passion. The Fitness & Image Results' philosophy behind our training
programs stems from a commitment to four basic components: proper food
intake, proper resistance training, proper cardiovascular training, and
proper supplementation. The way we tailor each one of these components
to each client is what helps us help our clients reach their realistic
goals. Contact Kirk Trader Recruiting Director (703)243-8600 E-mail to kirk_trader@firesults.com |
