The WATESOL
JOB BANK: The Job Bank provides a free listing service for employers
seeking ESOL teachers and WATESOL members seeking employment. Many
of the job postings arepart-time and/or temporary positions, and many
need to be filled immediately. Higher Ed. teachers should note that
requests from college/university programs tend to be cyclical, with
last minute requests often occurring at the beginning of the semester.

TESOL
Convention Employment Clearinghouse: Usually held in March or
April at the annual TESOL Convention. A way to gain access to interviews
of the best ESL positions in the American network every year.
TESLJB-L(Jobs
and Employment) Listserv: :A
wide variety of both international and domestic positions come through
this listserv on a weekly basis. Site also has occasional threads
on employment issues, salary questions, and working conditions in
different countries. All for free!
To join TESLJB-L you first have to join the
general TESL-L listserv. To do that send
the following information in the body of your email:

International Exchange
Programs, Useful Information for Working Abroad, and Other International
Job Resources
The
Gray List - An excellent resource to make sure you're not applying
to a school notorious for abusing its teachers. The Gray List provides
recommendations about where NOT to work--all over the world now,
but especially in Asia.
- Peace
Corps - 27 months, excellent support structure and good re-entry
resources. An excellent vehicle for your first trip abroad. Technical
and language training provided. Worldwide postings, especially Eastern
Europe and the former USSR. Plan on 6 to 12 months for application
process.
Fulbright
Teacher Exchange: Diverse programs for students, researchers,
and teachers in diverse countries. Good stipends and perks, usually
academic year length grants. Generally plan to begin application process
12 months in advance. Other Fulbright Programs - The Council
of International Exchange of Scholars.
SOROS Language Teaching
Program: In former Soviet Bloc countries. Modest stipend and perks,
but an opportunity to teach where you are really needed and appreciated.

School Services (ISS): Recruiters for teachers overseas. Especially
for DOD (Department of Defense) and State Department Schools. They
also publish a directory of overseas schools. Holds three Recruitment
Center interview conferences each year.
ELT Guide: Updated yearly,
this is one of the better guides with extensive (if unevaluated) lists

Inc: One of the major chains of English Language Institutes in
the world. Employment opportunities abroad and in the U.S.
Teaching
English in China - a mentor list useful because it allows the
prospective teacher to contact other teachers who have worked in the
particular schools that are featured.
