Folio

Folio is a journal of poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction. We look for work that ignites and endures, is artful and natural, daring and elegant. Past issues have included work by artists as diverse as Allison Joseph, Virgil Suarez, and Denise Duhamel and interviews with Amy Bloom, Gregory Orr and Ann Beattie.

Upcoming Events/Activities/FUN!

Open Mic: Wednesday, March 7th at the Davenport (in the SIS building) from 8:45-10:00pm. Come, read, and participate in Folio's literary fun! Enjoy the Winter 2007 issue of FOLIO. Open Mic also kicks off the semester long raffle and introduces Poetry Origami.

50/50 Raffle: The raffle begins at the Open Mic and will continue throughout the semester. This extended raffle means the reward has more time to grow and you have more opportunities to participate. There will be a first place (the cash winner) and a second place prize. Be on the look out for the raffle jar in workshops, Folio Events, and the Lit. Department. Winners will be announced at the release of the Spring 2007 issue.

Poetry Origami: Visual and literary arts come together in these hand crafted origami creatures. Inside their brightly colored exterior, you'll find a poem or memorable prose lines. Surprise yourself or a friend with an artistic moment that's guaranteed to be more accurate and less fattening than fortune cookies.

Yard Sale on the Quad (PART II): Back by popular demand, Folio's yard sale returns after spring break (exact date to be announced). If you have clothes, furnitures, books, anything in decent condition that you would like to donate for the yard sale, please contact Kurt.West@american.edu.

All proceeds go to the production and distribution of FOLIO a literary journal. Thank you for your continued and generous support. For questions about events, subscriptions, or anything else, contact folio.editors@gmail.com.
