Audio Equipment Recommendations

At the Center for Teaching Excellence, we have found certain microphones to be of good quality while still remaining relatively inexpensive.

PC
For the PC we recommend the Plantronics Audio 90 headset microphone. This microphone is available at Amazon.com and other e-tailors.

Mac
Many Macs have built in microphones, but do not have a microphone-in jack. If you wish to use a headset microphone, you will need a USB microphone or a converter for your standard mic. For a microphone we recommend the Plantronics DSP 500, which can be purchased at Amazon.com or other e-tailors. If you already have a standard microphone and would like to continue using it, we suggest the Griffin iMic which will allow you to connect your regular mic to a USB port.
