Uploading a Word Document, PowerPoint file or PDF:

It's very easy to take a document and upload it to your Blackboard course. When a student clicks on the document within the course the appropriate application is launched to display it.

Here are the steps:

To Upload a Word document, PowerPoint file or PDF file...

  1. Save the file in an appropriate folder on your hard drive
  2. Log into Blackboard and click on the link to the course you want to revise
  3. Once the course page has loaded, click on "Control Panel"
  4. Under Content Areas, click on the area to which you want to add your Word document (e.g., "Course Documents")
  5. Click on "Add Item" button
  6. In Section 1, type the name that you want to show on Blackboard
  7. In Section 2, click on the Browse button to open the File Upload dialog box
  8. Just like adding an attachment to an email, change folders to find the one that contains your document, select the document you want and click "Open"
  9. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Submit"

back to "Uploads and Inserts in Blackboard"
