This
overview of the school's fields describes the core of the School of International
Service experience. Together with the many co-curricular opportunities
the school offers, these fields of study provide key links between theory
and practice. They equip graduates with the competence and skills necessary
for professional careers in today's increasingly complex and globalized
environment.
Each field of study includes theory, economics, and social science research methods. It combines resources and opportunities for experiential learning with research experiences that supply students with the skills needed to deal effectively with emerging issues and complexities in international affairs. The SIS experience, based on the eight fields of study, includes the depth necessary for intellectual and skills development and the flexibility students need to shape their studies precisely to fit their professional needs.
