On-campus Housing
Park Bethesda is AU's modern and convenient off-campus apartment building. It is located 2 miles from the main campus and offers 258 spacious and modern apartments in a variety of types and layouts. Park Bethesda can be easily accessed through Bethesda Metro. There is a free shuttle that runs between the law school and main campus about every 15-30 minutes. On main campus, you can transfer to AU's free shuttle to the Tenley Metro. There is also fast (about 8 minutes) and convenient direct metro bus access to the Bethesda Metro station for less than $2 for a round trip.
Only American University graduate students, law students and undergraduates who have taken college courses for at least two years are qualified to lease space in Park Bethesda as students. This includes students who will be at least second semester sophomores at the start of the fall 2004 semester. Shared Student Housing
Housing can be found by renting a room in a house or apartment with other students. Openings are typically posted 1-2 months before move in date. Some web sites with openings are:

American University is located on Ward Circle, at the intersection of Massachusetts and Nebraska Avenues, NW, in Washington, DC. Detailed information about directions and transportation to campus.
For Visitors
After April 14, 2004, pay-as-you-go machines are available for visitor parking in the Nebraska Commuter Lot at the intersection of Nebraska and New Mexico Avenues. Limited metered parking is available adjacent to the Bender Library.
For Students
A student permit is required for all on-campus parking lots.
