GRADUATE ADVISING

Welcome to the SIS Graduate Advising Office webpage!

What we do:

The Graduate Advisors work with current degree-seeking students to assist with course selection and registration, degree progress tracking, curriculum information, and a variety of other academic affairs-related matters. We also process graduate non-degree registration requests.

If you are a current student and would like to schedule an appointment to meet with your advisor please call 202-885-1690 (x1690 if you are on campus) or e-mail sisgradadvising@american.edu (if you e-mail, please include a daytime phone number so that someone from our office can call you to schedule your appointment). A list of graduate advisors and their office hours is available here.

If you are interested in pursuing graduate coursework in the School of International Service as a non-degree student, please consult our online information.

If you are thinking of applying to one of our graduate programs, we encourage you to visit our Graduate Admissions Office website. Also, if you are looking for more question about degree requirements, application procedures, or other matters, be sure to visit the Graduate Admissions FAQ.

Information and degree requirements for our graduate programs can be found here.
