Internships are a crucial part the Global Environmental Politics experience. They provide students with the opportunity to gain skills, knowledge, and connections that cannot be taught or obtained in the classroom. Washington, D.C., has more opportunities for meaningful internships in the field than any other city in the United States. For students in the NRSD program the summer internship is a central feature of the UPEACE experience, requiring students to spend several months in the field working intensively on some aspect of sustainable development. Both programs benefit from our network of alumni and our active listserve for job and internship opportunities. Additionally, students have unlimited access to American University's Career Center which helps students with resumes, interview skills, and internship searches.
