CARICOM's GEFP is a the Caribbean environmental monitoring initiative focused on climate change, sea level rise, disaster mitigation, coastal vulnerability, coral reef health and related matters.

Puerto Rico Monitors Volcano with Remote Sensing Ground Station
The University of Puerto Rico is planning to install its own remote sensing ground station for scientific research.

UPRM - University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez
The Tropical Center for Space and Earth Studies (TCESS) of the University of Puerto Rico at  Mayagüez (UPRM) is an enhancement of the Laboratory for Applied Remote Sensing and Image Processing (LARSIP). TCESS is funded by NASA's University Research Centers (URC) Program, and LARSIP was first funded for five years by NSF in 1988 and then again in 1993.
