Consequences of Dishonesty
Academic dishonesty has very serious personal, institutional, and societal consequences. Some of these are listed below.
Personal

Sanctions include course failure and dismissal from the university

Notations indicating an academic integrity violation may appear on a student’s permanent academic record, which will be part of any transcript released to an employer, school, etc.

Disciplinary actions can affect future employment opportunities.
Institutional

The reputation of the university and the integrity of its degree weaken
Societal
- Confidence
in the quality of professional work (by doctors, accountants, journalists,
lawyers, mechanics, executives, politicians, etc.) and the fabric
of society erodes when there is a record of dishonesty
