Day Visits are designed to give you a glimpse of the true college experience. You will have the opportunity to sit in on a class with a current AU student and have lunch in our dining hall. You may choose to take a tour and attend an information session or meet with an academic advisor in your school of choice. We try to accommodate individual preferences, but you may need to be flexible due to class and advisor availability.
If available, we have Day Visits for prospective freshmen on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays throughout the semester. Please note that we do not offer day visits on Wednesdays, University holidays or special open house events on campus. We will also not offer day visits on Friday, October 16, as that is our students' Fall Break.
If you are interested in scheduling a Day Visit, please e-mail dayvisits@american.edu at least two weeks in advance of your visit with the following information:
- Full name of prospective student
- Date you would like to visit
- Specific times you are able to be on campus on selected date
- Academic area(s) of interest
- Which of the following components you would like as part of your visit:
- Class Visit
- Information Session*
- Campus Tour*
- Lunch in the Dining Hall
- Meeting with an academic advisor (please be specific as to which academic department/s) - Current residence (city/state)
- Contact information (preferred e-mail address and cell phone number for any day-of changes)
