Please note: Parents are invited to join us for all programming, but only students are allowed to spend the night on campus.

What to Bring
For the overnight portion of the program, students must bring a sleeping bag, pillow, towel, and toiletries. Think of your stay as indoor camping. You will be sleeping on the floor.

Overnight Release Agreement
All students wishing to spend the night must submit a completed Overnight Release Agreement that includes a parent/guardian's signature before coming to campus for this event. Please return a copy of this form to overnight@american.edu or fax it back to 202-885-6014.

In addition to learning more about your intended major and school, you’ll have the opportunity to tour campus, see a residence hall and learn more about the many special academic programs and campus life organizations.

About Freshman Day
Please note that this is not a mandatory event. This is an opportunity for those students who haven't yet decided on where they will enroll. In addition to learning more about your intended major and school, you’ll have the opportunity to tour campus, see a residence hall and learn more about the many special academic programs and campus life organizations. Additionally you may dine at your convenience in one of our campus eateries using a complimentary meal swipe card.


Freshmen Day has gone mobile!
Schedule, maps, Twitter, alerts and more on your iPhone or Android! We strongly encourage you to download our free mobile guide to enhance your experience at the event prior to your arrival. You'll be able to plan your day with a personalized schedule, access maps and interact with other attendees if you wish. The app is compatible with iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Android devices. Windows Phone 7 and Blackberry users can access the same information via our mobile site at m.guidebook.com.

Parking
Plenty of free parking will be available in the Katzen Arts Center underground garage or in the Nebraska Avenue parking lot; a parking permit is not required on Freshman Day.

These chats are by invitation only. All admitted students will receive an email a few days prior to the chat date with login information. In the meantime, you must first create your Username and Password to participate.
