Visiting the Admissions Welcome Center is your chance to immerse yourself in the American University (AU) experience. From the classroom, campus life, internships, and study abroad, you will get to KNOW AU and see how we use inquiry, discovery and knowledge to serve the greater good.

While on campus, you'll receive an information session from one of our admissions professionals, followed by a guided campus tour led by a current AU student ambassador.

Admissions Welcome Center Hours

Monday through Friday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Select Saturdays in the fall and spring: 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Reservations are required.

Please note: Before traveling to the university, please visit the homepage of the AU website. In the event of an emergency, the university operating status will be posted there. Should the university be forced to close, the Welcome Center and any on-campus admissions events will be canceled.

Location and Parking

The Admissions Welcome Center is on the second floor of the Katzen Arts Center, located at 4400 Massachusetts Avenue, NW (lat,long: 38.93925,-77.087159). For your convenience, complimentary underground parking is available on the P2 garage level. When you arrive, simply take the elevator to the second floor and follow the signs to the Admissions Welcome Center.
