Consider Making AU a Family Tradition
Through their work, the admissions office seeks to admit those students who, through their academic and extracurricular performance, demonstrate a fit with American University and its mission. The Admissions Office defines a legacy as any applicant whose mother or father graduated from American University. Legacy status is one of the many considerations in our holistic review process and is a way in which we are made aware of an individual's interest in the university. We value the relationship these families have with AU and consider that within the evaluation process. We welcome our alumni and would be pleased to guide them through the admissions process at AU.
