Academic Search Alumni Edition

Academic Search Alumni Edition, available courtesy of the University Library and Alumni Programs Office, is designed for the research needs of the post-college professional. The database provides full text for more than 2,300 publications as well as indexing and abstracting for more than 8,000 publications. The database offers information in nearly every area of academic study including anthropology, art, biology, business, history, international studies, physics, political science, psychology, religion, sociology and more. Academic Search Alumni Edition also includes valuable peer-reviewed full-text journals, offering critical information from many sources.

JSTOR

JSTOR, an accessible archive of more than 1,500 scholarly journals and other content, is now available to alumni of American University, courtesy of the University Library. Before only available for currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff of the university, JSTOR access is now extended to the greater AU community.

American Doctoral Dissertations, 1933-1955

American Doctoral Dissertations, 1933-1955 provides electronic access to the only comprehensive record of dissertations accepted by American universities during that time period, the print index Doctoral Dissertations Accepted by American Universities. Containing twenty-two years of dissertation research and amounting to nearly 100,000 citations, it was created with the support of the H.W. Wilson Foundation and the Congregational Library & Archives in Boston.

American University History: Photograph & Print Collection

This collection of photographs documents the early history of American University and its campus in northwest Washington DC. Photographs trace the physical development of the campus from the groundbreaking for its first building in 1896, through the rapid growth of the 1920s, up to the mid-1960s. There are photographs of the University's founders, chancellors and presidents, and of prominent officials who visited the campus, including United States Presidents Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Theodore Roosevelt, and Woodrow Wilson. Also included are photographs of commencement ceremonies from 1916-1970.

The Eagle

American University has digitized The Eagle student newspaper back to its first issue in 1925.
