Nina Peacock, SIS/BA '05
Nina decided to become a chapter leader because she really enjoyed being a part of the AU community during her studies and wanted to rekindle a piece of that community in Brussels. She works as an account executive for Landmark Europe.
Chicago
Allyson Berman, CAS/BA '99
Jeff Orschel, SIS/BA '02
Dorm Jeff lived in freshman year: Anderson Hall
Favorite AU memories: serving as Freshman Service Experience orientation leader, attending basketball games (both home and away) as a member of the Screaming Eagles, interning at the Washington bureau of BBC news, and last, but certainly not least, studying the European Union in Brussels through AU Abroad.
Favorite thing to do in Chicago during spare time: Attend sporting events, especially Cubs and Fire (professional soccer) games, countdown to Chicago Air & Water Show, and eat at new restaurants in Chicago's many neighborhoods. Favorites include the Pasta Bowl in Lincoln Park, Greek Islands in Greektown, and Five Guys - yup, even in Chicago!
Most enjoyable aspect of his work: Figuring out creative ways to promote clients through the media, and ultimately, making them happy.
Los Angeles
Marissa Aho, SPA/BA '02
Marissa finds it a real challenge to be 3,000 miles away from AU--she wants to take advantage of all the great programming that made up her college experience. As chapter leader for Los Angeles, she's looking to make the city smaller and more personal for the alumni who live here.
South Florida
Carl Hildebrand, SIS/MA '02
At AU, Carl studied the dynamics of European Union integration and expansion. He even studied abroad twice, once at Oxford University, Trinity College focusing on International Management and again at Caux, Switzerland, developing conflict transformation skills with Initiatives of Change as a Caux Scholar. He now runs his own Green culture consulting business as The Green Broker.

Erin Taylor, SPA/BA '03
It's Not All About the Cookies: Alumna's Career at Girl Scouts
If Erin Taylor, had to sum up her experiences at American University in one word, it would be “growth.” Her successful career as a manager for Membership and Volunteerism at Girl Scouts of the USA and her volunteer role as the leader of the AU New York City alumni chapter demonstrate her continued commitment to personal, professional, and community development.
Taylor’s favorite Girl Scout cookies are Thin Mints and Samoas. But, she quickly adds, “it’s about the entrepreneurial skills that girls gain by selling cookies, not just the actual product!”

Young Alumni Chapter
Jamie Curtis, SIS/BA '03
Jamie loved her four years at AU and has stayed involved as a way to stay connected to the community and to give back to AU. She is still close with many friends from AU and enjoys the camaraderie of meeting fellow alumni and sharing her experiences. She was newly elected as President of the Young Alumni Chapter and looks forward to a fun and exciting year.
