At AU, we rely on our alumni leaders to bridge the gap between the campus and our 100,000 alumni living and working in DC, the country, and the world. Whether serving as chapter leaders, class reunion chairs, or Alumni Board members, our alumni volunteer leaders serve as ambassadors of AU and work hard to engage fellow alums in the life and heart of the university.
Alumni Board
The American University Alumni Board is made up of a dedicated group of volunteers who serve as ambassadors of the university and work to actively engage other alumni in the life of the university.
We are not currently accepting applications or nominations for the Alumni Board.
Board of Trustees
The legal powers of the university are vested in a Board of Trustees of not less than 25 nor more than 50 members. Members can be elected by the Board to three-year terms. Ordinarily, the Board meets three times a year, in the fall, winter, and spring.
Chapter Leaders
AU's alumni chapter leaders are the backbone of the regional and local alumni programs. They work hard to ensure alumni all over the world have the opportunity to network and socialize with fellow Eagles.
Reunion Chairs
Class and affinity group reunions are held every October during Alumni Weekend. Reunion chairs help the Alumni Programs Office plan the reunion events. They're also instrumental in spreading the word about the reunions and encouraging their classmates to attend.
