Registration set to open for All-American Weekend 2016

2015 All-Alumni Party

Alumni enjoy the 2015 All-Alumni Party.

All-American Weekend is set to return to American University October 21-23. After an exciting lineup in 2015 that included a book discussion with alumnus and former Meet the Press moderator David Gregory, SIS/BA ’92, an alumni cruise on the Spirit of Washington, and a Student Government alumni reunion, AAW 2016 promises another spirited slate of events with exciting changes.

Debuting a single-day format, the Multicultural Alumni Mini Reunion will take the best of past three-day reunions and present one action-packed day of activity. This "even-year" alternative is designed to balance the now biennial three-day reunion. Mini MCAR will open with a late morning welcome brunch and continue to feature student touchpoints and opportunities for multicultural alumni to see their favorite faculty, staff, and of course, each other. The reunion's signature event, CELEBRATE!, returns for a fifth year.

The weekend’s annual kickoff event, the All-Alumni Party, will now serve as the finale for Saturday’s slate of programming. Coming off the success of last year’s widely popular party on the Spirit of Washington, this year’s event will take place at the U.S. Navy Memorial, near Gallery Place in downtown DC. The university will now kick off All-American Weekend by honoring outstanding alumni achievement at the annual Alumni Awards Ceremony and Dinner, once again taking place in the atrium of the School of International Service.
Additionally, the classes of 1966, 2006, and 2011 will celebrate signature reunions during the weekend. Other returning events include the annual The President’s Circle Dinner, Legacy Alumni Network breakfast, Fall Festival, and Discover the Sciences at AU.

October in Washington, DC is always a very exciting time of year: Nationals baseball playoff games (hopefully!), the annual Marine Corps Marathon, and All-American Weekend at American University. Each year, Eagles from all over the world return to campus to relive their best days for one weekend. Don’t wait to hear about it from your classmates. Make this the year that you experience All-American Weekend for yourself!

Registration opens on Friday, August 19. Learn more at
