Kogod School of Business's new Real Estate Council met for the first time Sept. 17. The nine-member panel spent the day meeting one another, lunching with real estate students, listening to a student presentation, and touring the new School of International Service building.
The council, essentially an advisory board that will work with Kogod's real estate programs, is chaired by Peggy Brooks Smith, director of the National Multi Housing Group with brokerage firm Marcus and Millichap in Bethesda, Md.
“The Council includes leaders from across the real estate industry, who will work to create improved career opportunities and a sense of sustainability while ensuring the program is emphasizing up-to-date skills that the market demands,” said Professor Peter Chinloy, who selected Brooks Smith for the chair.
Council members will meet at least once per semester and work closely with director of Real Estate Programs Pat Rudolph. —MU
