Education Records and You

Information that is part of the education record is stored in a variety of forms, including paper documents, computer printouts, class lists, computer screen displays, information on Blackboard and Advising Wizard, and notes taken during an advisement session. This would also include information available to faculty through their my.american.edu account for enrollment verification, early warning notices, and final grading. No matter in what form this information is kept, if you have access to it, your are obliged to safeguard it under the provisions of FERPA.
