By Adrienne Frank

The new Web site boasts lots of bells and whistles. Here we’ve picked some of the most useful links for faculty and staff.

American Today
Read the latest campus news and follow faculty and staff bloggers as their research takes them around the globe. This faculty-staff one-stop news page also features tech tips, library news, stories from across campus, key deadlines and announcements, and links to HR,, Jacobs Fitness Center, AU jobs, Office of Sponsored Research, and more.

AU in the Neighborhood
Learn about the Osher Lifelong Learning Center, AU’s arboretum and public garden, and other community connections. Local residents can also subscribe to the neighborhood listserv, which features information on events and campus happenings.

Human Resources
A well-organized new HR site offers separate entry points for faculty, staff, and student employees to information important to each group—from taxes and direct deposit to retirement planning and tuition benefits. Also, sign up for professional development workshops or Weight Watchers at Work, and more.

Auxiliary Services
Will Pura Vida be serving up fair-trade joe over spring break? What’s on the menu at the University Club? Where’s the closest ATM on campus? Find all that info—and load up your EagleBucks—on this services site.

Transportation Services
Read up on AU’s “good neighbor” parking policy, sign up for SmarTrip benefits, pay or appeal a ticket, check the shuttle schedule, sign up for Zip Car. If you have a question about getting to or from work, you’ll find the answer—and much more—here.

Technology Services
Keep current on AU’s expansive wireless network, download software, register for IT training, get connected from your home office, and chat live with the Help Desk. Faculty can also discover how to incorporate into their classes a range of multimedia services that includes videoconferencing and podcasting.
