Effective June 1, Greek Life will move from the purview of the Dean of Students to Student Activities. 

The move was sparked by a 2008 external review of student activities, which found that students would benefit from a “more unified storefront,” where they could find information about all extracurricular opportunities, from student government to sororities and fraternities.

“AU has a number of great programs, but there wasn’t one logical place for students to turn for information,” said Sara Waldron, associate dean of students. The move will provide more consistency and “make opportunities for engagement more accessible and visible for all students on campus.”

Supervision of Greek Life will move from Waldron to Karen Gerlach, director of Student Activities.
