Tenley Campus Recognized by National Wildlife Federation

The National Wildlife Federation (NWF) has named AU’s Tenley campus a “certified wildlife habitat.”

Per NWF guidelines, the lush, green space provides four basic habitat elements necessary for wildlife to thrive: food, water, cover, and places to raise young. Tenley is home to squirrels and deer—in addition to Washington Semester and University Communications and Marketing.

A sign celebrating Tenley’s status as a haven for neighborhood wildlife sits next to the pond in front of the Constitution Building. AU is also listed in NWF’s registry of certified habitats.
