Nathaniel Kwabo is both an international peace and conflict resolution alumnus and the executive director of the Liberian Truth and Reconciliation Commission. On Aug. 25 he presented School of International Service dean Lou Goodman and University Librarian Bill Mayer with a copy of the commission’s final report.
The commission was created in 2005 with a mandate to “promote national peace, security, unity and reconciliation” by investigating more than 20 years of civil conflict in Liberia and to report on gross human rights violations that occurred there between January 1979 and October 2003.
Several AU faculty and staff worked with the commission to craft the report. AU’s Bender Library is one of only a handful of universities around the country to have received a copy of it.
