WAMU’s New Logo Takes Home Gold at D.C. Ad Club Awards

Arnold Worldwide’s Washington office—the firm that developed WAMU 88.5’s new logo—has received two Gold ADDY Awards from the D.C. Ad Club for its work on the station’s rebranding campaign.

Along with a new slogan, “the mind is our medium,” the station rolled out the award-winning logo—a stylized rendering of the call letters with overlapping shapes in rainbow colors—in January 2011.

The fresh, contemporary look reflects WAMU’s commitment to diverse programming and civil discussion of wide-ranging ideas.

The D.C. Ad Club received 674 entries for this year’s ADDY Awards. Arnold Worldwide took home the most awards with 27, including 14 Gold ADDYs.
