The Kogod Tax Center held its grand opening on April 15, traditionally the day tax returns are due to the Internal Revenue Service. This year, because the IRS was observing D.C.’s Emancipation Day, the IRS’s usual deadline was delayed till April 18. The event was attended by, from left, Tax Center communications director Jessica Hallstrom; chief financial officer, vice president and treasurer Don Myers; Provost Scott Bass; Kogod dean Richard Durand; and Kogod Tax Center managing director David Kautter and executive director Don Williamson.
“This center will produce nonpartisan tax research that will increase the public’s understanding about the current tax laws and how these codes will affect the middle class, small businesses, and entrepreneurs,” Bass said at the opening.
The tax center is at 4545 42nd Street, Northwest, near the Tenley campus. —CS
