The School of International Service

SIS is a community of scholars, practitioners, and students from around the world. Its multidisciplinary curriculum emphasizes the operative word in the school's name: service. This overriding belief supports the School's goal to educate graduates of a special type -- individuals whose personal and societal principles offer the promise of success in the rigorous conditions of an increasingly interconnected and complex world.

SIS just struck Francisco Leon, SIS/MA ’87, as a different kind of place. The school didn’t fit into the traditional mold of a university. “It reminds me of an agora, a public space and an essential part of the ancient Greek polis."
