WAYS TO GIVE

When you support American University, you can designate your gift to be either unrestricted or restricted. Unrestricted gifts provide general support to the university and are made with no specific designation about how the university uses them. These funds are allocated to meet AU’s immediate needs.

Restricted gifts are designated for one or more campaign goals of special interest to the donor. These gifts address the specific needs of the university and are allocated according to the wishes of donors.  All gifts count toward AnewAU and building a new American University.

You may give to AU in any of the following ways:

• Annual Giving enhances the American University experience, providing sophisticated, high-tech laboratory equipment, scholarships, new academic initiatives, and a growing library collection while remaining affordable for all deserving students.
  
  
• Outright gifts provide direct support in the form of cash, securities, and real estate.
   
• Pledges allow donors to make generous contributions over several years, according to their own payment schedule.
   
• Company matching gifts match employee contributions to charitable causes.
   
• Bequests are made as contributions through a donor’s will.
   
• Planned gifts meet AU’s campaign goals while allowing donors to manage their assets.
