Theodore Roosevelt

Presidential Connections

Theodore Roosevelt, one of six sitting presidents to serve as member of the AU Board of Trustees, gave an address outside Hurst Hall in 1908.

Why AnewAU

A New American University

While our campus is the setting for the vigorous intellectual exchange that characterizes high-quality education, our story extends beyond the borders of a traditional university. The AU story is unfolding through the lives of people from diverse cultures and ethnic backgrounds engaged in a continuous dialogue about ideas and issues that improve our world. That's the special genius of this university. AnewAU is the promise of stories yet to be lived.

AnewAU is the largest and most ambitious fund-raising effort in AU's history. Over the next few years we will raise at least $200 million to strengthen academic programs, develop first-rate facilities and resources for learning, enrich the student experience, and enhance our financial capacity. The case for supporting this tremendous endeavor rests on the many stories of remarkable personal and academic achievement from AU’s students, alumni, faculty, staff, and friends.
