I am a historical archaeologist with over a decade of experience in the field
and hold a Masters of Applied Anthropology from the University of Maryland.
I am currently pursuing my Ph.D. from American. My research focuses on archaeology,
community and heritage in the working-class Baltimore neighborhood of Hampden.
I am interested in whether archaeology can be a tool for social action, and
whether promoting a strong sense of community heritage can help to democratize
the process of gentrification that currently underway there. Although my research
is quite local in scope, I am interested in the ways that local processes
like gentrification are produced and reproduced globally.
