  Maureen Breslin

Experience: Second Season

Maureen Breslin returns to the Eagle coaching staff for her second year of collegiate coaching. Working primarily with the goalkeepers, Breslin brought a wealth of knowledge to the field, helping lead American to their first Patriot League Championship and NCAA berth. Under her guidance, senior goalie Laura Miller posted 10 shutouts and one of the most successful goalkeeping seasons in school history.

No stranger to Patriot League competition, Breslin graduated from Bucknell University in 1999 with a bachelor of science in education. During her tenure at Bucknell, she was a four-year starter in goal for the Bison’s and was named Patriot League Rookie of the Year in 1995. Also a selection on the 1998 Second Team All-Patriot League, Breslin was honored with the Tracy Bass Award for Intensity the same year. The award is given annually by the field hockey team and recognizes the true sprit of the individual who competes to her fullest potential in every opportunity possible.

Also a standout in the classroom, Breslin was a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll and was the recipient of the Robert A. Latour Award for her involvement with service projects.

Following her collegiate career, Breslin participated in the Peace Corps in Sichaun, China, where she taught English before beginning her coaching career working with the varsity program at Penncrest High School in Media, Pa. In addition, Breslin taught Social Studies and worked with the freshman lacrosse team at the high school.

Currently, Breslin is working on her masters in International Training and Education at American University and resides in the Washington, D.C. area.
