AGUILAR, ANGELES NAMED ASTROTURF/NFHCA REGIONAL ALL-AMERICANS
Aguilar receives
second First Team Regional All-American honor. First nod for Angeles.

Aguilar received her second consecutive NFHCA First Team Regional All-American honor this season after leading the Eagles in scoring this season with 11 goals and four assists for 26 points. A two-time All-CAA First Team selection, Aguilar has tallied 27 goals and passed for eight assists for 62 points and stands fifth on AU's all-time scoring chart in just two seasons as an Eagle. Aguilar also represented American University at the 2000 NCAA Leadership Conference held in Lake Buena Vista, Florida this summer. A NFHCA Second Team Regional All-American selection, Angeles tallied nine career goals, including six this season and 19 assists for 37 points in her four-year stint with the Eagles. This season Angeles scored both of the Eagles' points against Appalachian State and scored or assisted AU in the last two consecutive contests (Albany and Virginia Commonwealth). A three-year member of the NFHCA Academic Squad, Angeles' provided the Eagles with a tireless work ethic both on the field and in the classroom. The Eagles concluded their season at Rutgers on Halloween as they spooked the Lady Knights with a 2-1 penalty stroke victory to finish the seasons with a winning 10-7 mark. In one of their most competitive schedules to date the Eagles surrendered six-of-their-seven losses to top-20 teams including then #2 Michigan, Michigan State, then #2 Old Dominion, #12 James Madison, then #4 Wake Forest and William & Mary.
