Eagles Fall to Boston College, 5-1
Penalty corner combination leads BC to victory

Game Stats -- Sept. 9, 2001

Boston, Mass. -- The American Eagles field hockey team continued to struggle today as they fell to Boston College, 5-1. The Eagles are still looking for their first win of the season in 2001.

Senior defender Amelie Wulff provided all five goals for the Boston Eagles on penalty corner plays. Gina Dinan and Virginia Drozd assisted on all goals, marking the first time that Wulff has netted five goals in a single game.

American scored late in the first half of the contest, tying the game at 1-1. Senior Kecia Jones (Diamond Vale, Trinidad/Bishop Antsey) found the back of the net after an assist by Magdalena Aguilar (Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Catherine's Moorlands). The four-goal attack form Boston College began at 30:15 in the second half.

Boston College garnered nine penalty corners in the game as compared to six by American. The Eagles will look for their first win of the season when they play at Lafayette on Saturday, Sept. 15.
