Junior forward earns offensive award for the second time this season

Washington, D.C. -- American University junior Magdalena Aguilar (Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Catherine's Moorlands) was named the Patriot League’s Offensive Player of the Week for field hockey this afternoon. Aguilar has now earned the Offensive Player of the Week nod twice this season.
The team's leading scorer, Aguilar had a phenomenal performance at Colgate on Saturday when she netted three goals and an assist. She also had American's only goal at Richmond last Wednesday in the Eagles' 2-1 overtime loss.
Aguilar has seven goals and three assists so far this season, as well as 33 total shots. Her offensive dominance has led American to a 4-4-0 overall record and a 3-1-0 record in the Patriot League.
American will face Towson this Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 3:00 p.m. in Towson, Md., and will play at Georgetown on Friday, Oct. 12, also at 3:00 p.m.
