Rallies for 2-1 Win over Towson Eagles have won five of last six games Game Stats -- October 10, 2001 Towson, Md. -- Senior Rita Delgadillo (Chula Vista, Calif./Hilltop) scored the game-winning goal with 11:46 remaining in the game as American came back from a 1-0 halftime deficit to defeat host Towson, 2-1. The game winner marked Delgadillo's first season goal. The win marked American's fifth in their last six games. Towson took an early 1-0 lead on a goal by freshman Ashley Bacon (assist Brandi Franks) but the Eagles stormed back after halftime, outshooting Towson 9-4 in the second period. Junior standout Magdalena Aguilar (Buenos Aires, Argentina/St. Catherine's Moorlands), winner of this week's Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week award, scored first for American at 52:53 to notch her eighth season goal, a team high. Less than six minutes later, Delgadillo scored the winning goal in front of her father, Edward, who was in attendance from California. Sophomore keeper Laura Miller (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown) had her second straight start in net for American and totaled four total saves while facing eight shots. American moves to 5-4 overall, 3-1 while playing in the Patriot League. They will play at Georgetown this Friday, Oct. 12 at 3:00 p.m.
