October 28, 2003

WASHINGTON- Senior Melissa Snyder (Gaithersburg, Md./Quince Orchard) and senior goalkeeper Laura Miller (Pennsburg, Pa./Quakertown) have been named to the South squad for the 2003 NFHCA Division I North/South Senior All-Star Game.

The game, which will be held in conjunction with the NCAA Division I championship on Saturday, Nov. 22, represents the top seniors in Division I field hockey. The game will be played at the University of Massachusetts’s Garber Field.

Throughout her career as an Eagle, Snyder has continually led the team both on and off the field. In 2002 she was honored as a Second-Team All-Patriot League selection, as well a member of the Patriot League Academic Honor Roll.

As a senior, Snyder has played outstanding offensive games, scoring multiple goals in three games, including four goals against Lehigh. She is currently leading the team in scoring with 12 goals and 5 assists, for 29 points.

Miller, a standout goalkeeper from the beginning of her career, has been one of the top goalkeepers in the league. Honored as the Patriot League Defender of the Week five times, she currently has nine shutouts this season, and the highest save percentage of the Patriot League.

The game will be played at the University of Massachusetts’s Garber Field.
