COLLEGE PARK, Md. -- In the midst of a scoring spree, American University senior Magdalena Aguilar scored her fifth goal on a reverse chip with 35 seconds left in the game to beat UMass 2-0 Sunday at the University of Maryland Tournament.
The Eagles got on the board behind Melissa Snyder's second tally of the season and added Aguilar's insurance goal late to dissolve any possibilities of a Minutewomen comeback.
Playing well for AU was senior Kate Finn, who controlled the backfield and set up a number of offensive opportunities. Also putting in solid work for American was freshman defender Caroline Vo.
AU heads to James Madison Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. start.
