Lafayette Defeats AU Field Hockey 1-0 in OT
Miller makes 11 saves for American including penalty stroke

Laura Miller made eight saves for the Eagles.

COLLEGE PARK. -- In a rematch of last year's Patriot League semifinal, the American University field hockey team lost 1-0 in overtime to Lafayette College Sunday in the Eagles' first PL meeting of 2002.

LC's leading scorer Megan Monahan tallied her eighth goal of the season on a corner off assists from Stone and Melissa Hoh at 72:33.

With 33:27 left in the second half, AU keeper Laura Miller made 11 saves in 72:33 minutes. The junior dove left and put a halt to Jennifer Stone's penalty stroke with her left foot pad after a hooking call was made on American.

The Eagles recorded just four shots including two on net but both teams were equal in corners with five. Senior Kate Finn was a defensive standout for AU.
