Finn dishes out fourth assist of season for American

Senior Magdalena Aguilar scored both goals for AU.

BETHLEHAM, Pa. -- Senior Magdalena Aguilar scored her eighth and ninth goals of the 2002 season Saturday afternoon in a 2-1 win over Patriot League rival Lehigh.

AU improves to 5-4 and an even 1-1 in Patriot League action as it heads to Temple Sunday for a 1 p.m. start.

The Eagles trailed early in the first half when Blaire Goodwin tallied a score off the stick of Lisa Nichols at 32:52 for Lehigh.

American junior attacker Melissa Snyder ripped a shot at net but it was stopped by the body of a Lehigh defender. Aguilar, who won the season opener over Virginia Commonwealth with a penalty stroke, converted her attempt to knot the score at 1-apiece at 33:45.

Less than eight minutes later, Aguilar found the back of the net for the ninth time this season off a corner pass from senior defender Kate Finn. It marks the fourth assist of the year for Finn.

Junior keeper Laura Miller made one save on the day as the Eagles led in corners by a 12-7 margin.

Freshman Kristen Collins made an impressive debut for American at the midfield position.
