AU Men's Golf Takes Fourth at GW Invitational

Cupp leads Eagles as he ties for 10th place.

Wes Cupp led American at GW with a 155 (+11) to finish tied for 10th.

The American University Men's Golf team competed in the George Washington Invitational on Sunday and Monday and finished fourth out of 29 teams.

The Eagles shot 318-311-629 (+53) en route to their fourth place finish. Wes Cupp (Jr., Rome, NY/Rome Free Academy), who took second at the AU Spring Invitational the previous week, led American as he shot 80-75-155 (+11) to finish tied for 10th. Seth Kaplan (Fr., Dallas, TX/J.J. Pearce) finished two strokes behind Cupp at +13 (84-73-157) and tied for 24th place.

Mc Neese State won the tournament, held at Swan Point Yacht & Country Club in Issue, Md., with a two-day score of 616 (+40). GW's Thomas Blankvoort was the top individual finisher with an even-par score of 72-72-144.

The Eagles next compete at Navy April 7-8.
