Eagles Finish Third at Holiday Inn Colonial Golf Classic Chris Schieffer finishes second

MOON TOWNSHIP. Pa. — American University claimed third place in the 2003 Holiday Inn Colonial Golf Classic, which was played at the Montour Heights Country Club. They were led by junior Chris Schieffer, who finished second with a 149 (76-73).
It is the second year in a row that Schieffer has shot a 73 on the second day of the Holiday Inn Colonial Golf Classic. However, his first round this year was a 76, and so his score was six shots better than a year ago.
Junior Philip Kief finished in a tie for ninth at 154 (73-81) while freshman Todd Shagin finished up with a 156 (81-77), good for 16th overall.
Senior David Stone rebounded from an opening round of 86 to post a 77 on the second day, good for a 163 while Seth Kaplan shot a 168 (82-86).
Montour Heights is 6,502 yards in length and a par-72 course. This year American shot 620 as a team, which is 15 strokes better than in 2002.
American will next be back in action on October 27-28 at the ODU Seascape Collegiate Invitational.
