Eagles Fourth at Bullock Collegiate Classic
Chris Schieffer tied for 10th after first day

Chris Schieffer shot a 37 on both the front and back nine at the first round of the Bullock Collegiate Classic.

FAIRBORN, Oh. - American University is fourth after the first round of the Bullock Collegiate Classic. The Eagles shot a team score of 299, just one back for a three-way tie for second. Chris Schieffer (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) led the Eagles with a 74 after shooting a 37 in both rounds. Brandon Boomswa of Ball State shot a 69 to lead all individual players, including a 33 on the front nine.

Phil Kief (Kingwood, Tx./Kingwood), Seth Kaplan (Dallas, Tx./J.J. Pearce) and freshman Ben Hartman (Jupiter, Fla./Suncoast) all are tied for 13th after each shooting 75. Kief shot a 37 and followed it with a 38 while Kaplan scored a 39 and then followed it up with a 36.Hartman posted a 37 and 38.

Mark Nihill (Buffalo, N.Y./Canisius) finished the round with an 80. He finished the back nine with a 39 after opening up with a 41.

Ball State leads after the first round with a team score of 290, eight strokes ahead of the nearest team. The match is being hosted by Wright State at Green Country Club. The course is a Par 72 and the total distance is 7,007 yards. The final two rounds will be played on Monday..
