Eagles Tied for Fifth at Cleveland State Invitational
Phil Kief tied for 5th after first day

Phil Kief is tied for fifth after the first day of the Cleveland State Invitational.

AVON, Ohio. - American University fired a 318 in the afternoon round of play today to grab a share of fifth with Butler University. The Eagles finished the first day at the Cleveland State Invitational with a score of 645, and were led by Phil Kief (Kingwood, Tx./Kingwood). Kief shot an 82 in the morning round, but rebounded with a 75 in the afternoon, for a total score of 157, which was good for fifth on the day.

Chris Schieffer (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum) and Paul Servidio (Carmel, N.Y./Harrison) both finished tied for 22nd after posting identical scores of 162. Schieffer shot a 79 and 83 for his 162 while Servidio posted matching 81s.

Seth Kaplan (Dallas, Tx./J.J. Pearce) finished 31st with a 164. Kaplan responded with a 79, after shooting an 85 in the opening round.

Dayton and St. Bonaventure finished tied for first after both posting team scores of 632. Geoff Wood of Lakeland led all players with a pair of 75s, for a 150 after the first day.
