Finishes Seventh at Cleveland State Invitational April 22, 2003
AVON, Ohio - American University shot a 330 on the final day of the Cleveland State Invitational to finish with a final team score of 975, good for seventh. Individually, Phil Kief (Kingwood, Tx./Kingwood) led the Eagles with a score of 238, which earned him sixth place for the tournament. Paul Servidio (Carmel, N.Y./Harrison) was second for AU with a final score of 244. The 244 was good for a tie for 17th, and gave him a one stroke margin over teammate Chris Schieffer (Wilmington, Del./Salesianum). Schieffer posted an 83 today, to give him a 245 for the tournament, and a tie for 22nd. Seth Kaplan (Dallas, Tx./J.J. Pearce) finished in a tie for 36th after his final round of 87. It gave him a total of 251. Dayton shot a dazzling 314 on the final day to win the Cleveland State Invitational. The Flyers had a final score of 946 for the three rounds, and their final round of 314 was seven better than the nearest school.
